Ski Areas of Argentiere and Chamonix Valley
All Ski areas joined by free bus service. Les Grands Montets Argentiere - 5 mins walk from town centre, large amounts of parking. Some say the best off piste skiing in the world! It has an altitude of 3300m and north, north west aspect guarantees quality snow, even late into the season. Some of the best skiing can be in May! The sheer size of the area, its vertical possibilities and high mountain atmosphere, place it in the Premier League of great ski resorts. It also has the largest piste skiing area in the valley with both great Blues and Reds. |

Le Tour Argentiere area - 5 mins drive or free bus. It's a great ski area of the valley for beginners and intermediate skiers with a variety of the blue, green and red pistes. Tree lined runs, down to the new ski lift in Vallorcine are very picturesque. |

L'Aiguille du Midi (la Vallee Blanche) lift location centre of Chamonix town. Large amounts of parking. The Valley Blanche is probably the world's most famous off-piste run. For 20km it snakes down a huge glacier system, followed by a zigzag track to reach the center of Chamonix - a descent of 2800 meters from the Aiguille du Midi. The route descends from the Aiguille du Midi (3800m), down the G�ant , du Tacul and the Mer de Glaciers. From here, depending on the snow cover, ski back down to Chamonix town or take a mountain train (Montenver) back to the bottom of the Valley. There are a number of variants on the route taken, ranging from intermediate to extreme level. |

Brevent/Flegere Lift location is centre Chamonix town access to Flegere via cable car. Parking available. These ski areas cater for all levels of beginners through to off piste. The piste is south facing, with wonderful views of the Mont Blanc Massif. Brevent also hosts the red bull extreme skiing competition in Feb. |

Les Houches 15mins drive or free bus from Argentiere. Very large ski area, more sheltered than others. Tree lined cursing blue and red runs with stunning views of the valley. Privately owned cozy mountain restaurants, which serve local specialties. |
